Habitats Study at Parkanaur
As part of the on-going shared education SETT programme, the children from P4-7 joined with Churchill P.S. to complete a habitats study in Parkanaur. Facilitated by the Speedwell team, the children worked together to learn about different species living in the woodland habitat. A display of stuffed woodland creatures added to the learning experience.
They explored the variety of habitats in and around the park including tree, pond and microhabitats. They visited a foxes' den, badgers' sett, squirrels' drey and the deer park. They built shelters in the park from natural materials and collected mini-beasts to study.
Everyone enjoyed mixing with new friends and working and learning together in the woodland environment.
