Having Fun with Technology in Key Stage 2
9th Feb 2016
As part of the topic on Japan, P5-7 were investigating how to make an earthquake proof structure. A great deal of discussion and planning went on before they built their structures from marshmallows and pasta sticks. Each structure had to withstand an “earthquake” and support 200g weight. Everyone enjoyed the task and discovered that “x” and “k” bracing, with a wider base than top were needed for success. A P6/7 girls group were successful in building a strong, stable structure that withstood the earthquake. Well done girls!
