St. Brigid's Day Crosses
As part of Catholic Schools week, which acknowledges the importance of Catholic education in our community, parents, grandparents and friends were invited into school to make St. Brigid's crosses, which were presented for blessing at the 7.30pm mass in St. Brigid's Church, Killens on 1st February. The tradition of collecting rushes and older generations teaching younger generations how to make the crosses was certainly evident and a testament to the importance of handing on the faith to younger generations. Huge thanks to all who made this a great event, not just for the children but for the community at large.
