P5-7 have been reading a novel called ‘Taking Sides’ by Brian Gallagher, as part of the “One Book, One County” project with Monaghan Libraries.
After reading this wonderful book, set during the Irish Cvil War, the pupils wanted to encourage other people to read it. They chose an exciting episode of the story to act out, wrote a script, discussed shot types and recorded video footage using a green screen. The movie was edited in “doink” and “iMovie”. The budding actors loved the whole process. We hope you enjoy their movie 🎞
